Historic English Hotel Installs Biometric Scanners

Biometric attendance systems have made their entrance across the Big Pond!

biometric software reaches england In the latest piece of fingerprint time clock news, a renowned and historic English hotel has installed biometric fingerprint scanners to track staff attendance data in real time. Like their American counterparts, the hotel has embraced this new technology as a way to ease the burden on their human resources department while ensuring all staff attendance data is up to date and accurate.

The Stapleford Park Country House Hotel and Sporting Estate in England’s Leicestershire recently issued a press release that announced the company’s implementation of timeclock software that compares staff fingerprints against a database of the company’s employees. Once a match it found, the employee is clocked in and granted access. Data is reported to the human resource department instantly and reports can be generated with nothing more than a few clicks of a mouse.

Stapleford Park’s payroll adminstrator, Sally Hatton explains the rationale by saying that “we have over 150 employees who are working different shifts around the clock. It makes it very difficult to monitor staff attendance, especially on overnights and when people swap shifts. We used to use time sheets, but this is very time consuming, both for the non-salaried staff and for the payroll teams.” Thanks to the new technology, Hatton reports that the hotel now has accurate information about who is on site and who is off. This allows for smoother operations and a decrease in human resource spending.
